More than 40,000 visitors have visited the lakeside park since its opening in January.
There’s no public camping on the lake, but there are plenty of sites to fill your tummy with delicious, seasonal fare.
It’s a perfect spot to get a little exercise while relaxing with a book.
But this winter, there’s a lot of work to be done.
In a few weeks, the lake will be open to all but the most heavily-armed military.
It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the park’s first ever winter visitor camp.
The Lake Louise First Nations reserve, along with other First Nations communities along the lake’s shore, have been working together to create a winter camp that would provide all of the basic services, including water and cooking facilities, that the military needs to operate their camps.
It would also allow them to get some sleep in peace, which is a big part of the reason for their efforts.
“The First Nations people are extremely protective of their environment, so they do really well to protect this water and our environment, and to have access to it, that is important to us,” says David Thompson, the park chief.
A tent was set up on the grounds at the park on Wednesday, April 14, 2017, to house all the people who were invited to the camp.
It has a full kitchen, bathroom, and shower.
The camp will only be open for two weeks from now.
This is where the military’s tents are.
They’ll be able to use the tents during the winter, but the First Nations are asking people not to camp there during the summer months.
There are a lot more than just people to watch the military use the lake for activities.
The military also uses the lake to train and practise shooting.
They’re using the lake as a target to practice shooting.
This training will take place on the park grounds during the week, and the military is hoping to train as many people as possible.
“There are some of the best people in the world, and we’re going to put them to good use,” Thompson said.
This is a lot to take in, and it’s very difficult for the First Nation people who live in the area to get into this camp.
They live on the reserve, so we have to pay them a certain amount for everything, which we can’t do for the military,” he says.
Thompson says the reserve is already in the process of getting an agreement with the military to make them the sole visitors of the camp during the duration of the military operations.
The reserve is also encouraging the military and the government to allow people who are currently camping in other areas of the reserve to come and enjoy the park.
